Role Overview
As a Junior Accountant, you will support the day-to-day accounting functions of the organization by maintaining financial records, assisting with reconciliations, processing financial documents, and ensuring compliance with internal accounting procedures. You will work closely with the finance team to support accurate reporting and efficient financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate daily accounting entries and financial records.
- Assist with bank, vendor, and customer account reconciliations.
- Process invoices and maintain payment records and expense documentation.
- Support the preparation of financial reports and audit-related documentation.
- Organize and maintain bills, vouchers, receipts, and other supporting financial documents.
- Coordinate with internal departments to follow up on accounting and payment-related matters.
- Ensure accounting records are updated accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support the finance team with additional accounting and administrative tasks as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in accounting or finance is preferred.
- Recent graduates with relevant accounting knowledge are encouraged to apply.
- Good understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, Zoho Books, or similar platforms is an advantage.
Preferred Skills
- Sound knowledge of basic accounting and bookkeeping practices.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and data entry skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of account reconciliations and financial documentation.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and work collaboratively within a finance team.
Key Accountabilities
- Maintain complete and accurate accounting records.
- Deliver assigned accounting tasks within established deadlines.
- Keep financial documents properly filed and organized.
- Report discrepancies, errors, or missing information promptly to supervisors.
- Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of company financial information.
