We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Officer to join our Human Resources team and support our growing workforce.

Job Summary

As the Human Resources Officer, you will provide comprehensive administrative and operational support across key HR functions, including recruitment, employee records management, payroll support, statutory compliance, and employee relations. Working closely with the HR Manager, you will help ensure efficient HR operations while promoting compliance with Ghanaian labour laws and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources Operations

  • Support the end-to-end recruitment process by preparing job advertisements, shortlisting candidates, coordinating interviews, conducting reference checks, and facilitating onboarding.
  • Prepare employment contracts, appointment letters, and HR correspondence in compliance with the Ghana Labour Act, 2003 (Act 651) and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and confidential employee records in both physical and digital formats.
  • Administer employee leave records, including annual, sick, maternity, paternity, and compassionate leave.
  • Respond to routine employee enquiries and escalate complex matters to the HR Manager where appropriate.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to a positive workplace culture.

Payroll and Statutory Compliance

  • Collect, verify, and reconcile attendance records and field labour timesheets for monthly payroll processing.
  • Assist in preparing monthly payroll schedules and supporting payroll administration.
  • Compile and submit statutory payroll schedules to SSNIT and insurance providers within required deadlines.
  • Ensure HR records and payroll information remain accurate, secure, and compliant with statutory requirements.

HR Administration and Compliance

  • Support compliance with labour legislation, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain HR reports, personnel databases, and operational documentation.
  • Assist with HR audits, compliance reviews, and employee documentation.
  • Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen operational efficiency.

Educational Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • A Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in a Human Resources support or administrative role within Ghana.
  • Sound knowledge of the Ghana Labour Act, 2003 (Act 651), SSNIT regulations, and other statutory employment requirements.
