Position Summary
As a Basic 3 Class Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons, assess pupil progress, manage classroom activities, and support the overall academic and personal development of learners. You will apply learner-centered teaching approaches aligned with the NaCCA curriculum while creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
As the Basic 3 Class Teacher, you will:
- Teach Basic 3 subjects, including English Language, Mathematics, Science, Our World Our People (OWOP), Ghanaian Language, and other assigned subjects.
- Develop and deliver effective lesson plans aligned with the NaCCA curriculum and school academic standards.
- Apply learner-centered teaching methods that encourage participation, creativity, and independent thinking.
- Prepare teaching materials and use appropriate teaching aids to support effective learning.
- Assess pupils’ understanding through class exercises, assignments, tests, and examinations.
- Mark pupils’ work, maintain accurate academic records, and prepare progress reports.
- Manage classroom activities effectively while maintaining discipline and a positive learning environment.
- Promote good morals, honesty, respect, responsibility, and civic values among pupils.
- Identify pupils’ learning needs and provide appropriate support to improve academic performance.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding pupil progress and development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve teaching practices and support school programmes.
- Participate in school activities, meetings, training sessions, and professional development initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must possess:
- A Diploma or Degree in Basic Education or a related education discipline.
- Previous teaching experience at the upper primary level will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge and understanding of the NaCCA curriculum and primary education standards.
- Experience developing lesson plans, assessments, and learner support strategies.
