Position Summary
AAK is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial accounting operations, ensure compliance with international and local financial standards, and support business performance through accurate financial reporting and analysis.
The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening financial processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting operational efficiency within a dynamic, multinational, and production-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS standards.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in line with internal and external requirements.
- Maintain integrity of financial data and ensure proper record-keeping across all accounting systems.
Compliance & Tax Management
- Ensure full compliance with Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) regulations, including VAT and other statutory requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and provide required documentation and support.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, IFRS standards, and local regulatory frameworks.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and financial regulations and implement necessary updates.
Financial Control & Process Optimization
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure effective financial governance across operations.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, efficiency, and accuracy.
- Support ERP system utilization and contribute to system enhancements where necessary.
- Ensure proper reconciliation of accounts and resolution of discrepancies.
Operations & Business Support
- Collaborate with logistics, operations, and supply chain teams to support financial planning and reporting.
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making in production and operational activities.
- Support cost analysis, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Ensure accurate tracking of operational and production-related costs.
Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead and supervise accounting staff, ensuring performance, development, and accountability.
- Work effectively within a multicultural and cross-functional environment.
- Liaise with internal departments, auditors, tax authorities, and external partners.
- Maintain strong communication and collaboration across all business units.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification such as ICAG, ACCA, or equivalent is required.
- Minimum of four (4) to five (5) years of relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting, and process optimization.
- Strong knowledge and experience in IFRS reporting environment.
- Experience working in West Africa or developing markets will be an advantage.
- Background in manufacturing, agriculture, logistics, or commodity-based industries is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Ghana tax regulations, VAT requirements, and GRA compliance.
- Experience with ERP systems is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
