Position Summary
The Assistant Registrar II (Aptitude Test) will combine expertise in Information Technology with research and educational assessment to support the design, administration, and continuous enhancement of digital aptitude testing systems. The role requires strong technical competence, analytical thinking, and a commitment to maintaining secure, efficient, and reliable assessment processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and digitisation of aptitude tests.
- Develop, configure, and maintain Computer-Based Testing (CBT) platforms.
- Format, organise, and manage digital test items within assessment systems.
- Maintain candidate records, test databases, and research datasets with high accuracy.
- Support psychometric analysis, including item performance evaluation and scoring analysis.
- Maintain testing software, databases, and internal IT systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot technical issues before, during, and after test administration.
- Ensure assessment platforms remain secure, reliable, and operational.
- Assist researchers with data collection, processing, analysis, and visualisation.
- Apply technology solutions to support statistical analysis and reporting.
- Support the implementation of technology-driven research methodologies.
- Develop or customise internal applications for item banks, automated scoring, and candidate tracking systems.
- Implement appropriate measures to maintain examination security and test integrity.
- Prepare technical reports and provide recommendations for system improvements.
- Perform other duties assigned in support of the Council’s assessment and research objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ post-graduation experience as an IT Officer or in a similar technical role.
- Demonstrated experience managing IT infrastructure and providing technical support.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software installation, networking, and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Working knowledge of cloud-based technologies and services.
- Experience supporting computer-based testing systems or educational technology solutions will be an added advantage.

Additional Requirements
Applicants must:
- Possess five (5) credits in WASSCE/GCE Ordinary Level, including English Language and Mathematics at one sitting, or six (6) credits at not more than two sittings, including English Language and Mathematics.
- Be not more than forty (40) years of age as of the application closing date.
- Demonstrate integrity, reliability, and a strong commitment to confidentiality.
- Be capable of working effectively under pressure and meeting strict deadlines.
