Job Summary

Vitara seeks a responsible and skilled Cargo Truck Driver to ensure safe and timely transportation of goods across operational areas. The driver will operate cargo trucks efficiently, maintain vehicle conditions, and engage positively with farmer groups, field agents, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate cargo trucks and heavy-duty vehicles according to schedules and route plans.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report mechanical issues promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of trips, deliveries, and vehicle maintenance.
• Engage professionally with farmer groups, field agents, and other stakeholders.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company driving policies.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of cargo while maintaining vehicle integrity.
• Assist with loading and unloading cargo when necessary.
• Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and professionalism in all operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of a Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) or equivalent.
• At least two (2) years of professional driving experience, preferably with cargo trucks or heavy-duty vehicles.
• Valid Ghanaian driver’s license (Class D or higher) with a clean driving record.
• Proven ability to operate and maintain cargo trucks safely and efficiently.
• Basic mechanical knowledge to identify and report vehicle issues.
• Strong time management and adherence to schedules.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to read and write in English; proficiency in local languages (e.g., Dagbani, Gonja, Mampruli) is an advantage.
