Position Summary

The Cook will prepare high-quality meals in accordance with company recipes, hygiene standards, and presentation guidelines. The role requires strong culinary skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining consistency and quality.

Key Responsibilities

As a Cook, you will:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
  • Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality expectations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen at all times.
  • Assist in food preparation tasks including chopping, seasoning, and organizing ingredients.
  • Monitor food stock levels and report shortages or spoilage to management.
  • Ensure proper storage of food items in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Support the Head Chef and kitchen team in daily operations.
  • Follow food safety procedures and maintain compliance with hygiene standards.
  • Ensure efficient use of kitchen equipment and report any faults or maintenance needs.
  • Contribute to a smooth and coordinated kitchen workflow during peak service periods.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in a professional kitchen or hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations.
  • Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
  • Strong teamwork, time management, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to food quality and consistency.
