We are seeking a proactive and results-oriented Credit Recovery Officer to join our team in Accra. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing delinquent loan portfolios, implementing effective recovery strategies, and supporting sound credit risk management practices.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Loan Recovery and Portfolio Management
- Monitor assigned portfolios of delinquent loan facilities to identify causes of default and implement effective recovery strategies.
- Apply sound credit judgment and collection processes within established policies and regulatory guidelines to minimize credit losses.
- Maintain loan ageing schedules and follow up with clients to ensure recovery of outstanding loan balances.
- Negotiate repayment arrangements and prepare approval requests for management consideration where necessary.
- Ensure all recovery activities comply with company credit policies and procedures.
Credit Monitoring and Client Engagement
- Conduct regular calls, site visits, and follow-ups with clients to implement remedial action plans and improve loan recoverability.
- Initiate demand notices and reminder letters to defaulting customers in a timely and professional manner.
- Review credit files to ensure proper documentation, monitoring, and compliance standards are maintained.
Reporting and Compliance
- Prepare and maintain accurate monthly collection and recovery reports.
- Drive consistent reduction in non-performing loans through aggressive recovery efforts and viable restructuring solutions.
- Work closely with the legal department to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Support the continuous review and improvement of credit policies and recovery procedures.

Qualifications and Experience
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional Experience and Skills
- Proven experience as a Credit Recovery Officer or in a similar role within the financial sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Good understanding of credit laws, regulations, and recovery procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and financial management software.
- Experience in credit analysis, risk assessment, collections, and loan recovery processes.
- Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
- Ability to develop, implement, and review credit policies and procedures effectively.
