Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment and production machinery.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults to minimise equipment downtime.
- Install, inspect, repair, and maintain electrical systems in accordance with company standards.
- Maintain Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) electrical distribution systems.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams to support maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety regulations and company maintenance procedures.
Automation & Instrumentation
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC-controlled production systems.
- Program and modify PLC logic using Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and related programming languages where required.
- Monitor and maintain SCADA systems to ensure reliable process control.
- Install, calibrate, and maintain industrial sensors, actuators, transmitters, and instrumentation devices.
- Troubleshoot communication networks between automation systems and production equipment.
- Support automation upgrades, system enhancements, and process optimisation initiatives.
Equipment Reliability & Continuous Improvement
- Participate in the installation, commissioning, and start-up of new production lines and industrial equipment.
- Identify recurring equipment failures and implement sustainable corrective solutions.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, operational efficiency, and equipment reliability.
- Support root cause analysis of equipment breakdowns and implement preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and technical documentation.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Carry out all maintenance activities in compliance with the Company’s Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) standards.
- Promote a strong safety culture by identifying hazards and reporting unsafe conditions.
- Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and other safe work practices during maintenance activities.
- Participate in safety audits, inspections, and continuous improvement programmes.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must possess:
- A Diploma in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Process, or Electrical & Automation Engineering.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in electrical maintenance, industrial automation, or a related technical field.
- Demonstrated experience in the installation, commissioning, and start-up of industrial equipment or production lines.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and manufacturing processes.
Technical Competencies
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong troubleshooting skills in industrial electrical and automation systems.
- Sound knowledge of Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) electrical distribution systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Hands-on experience with PLC programming, including Ladder Logic and Structured Text.
- Experience working with SCADA systems and industrial automation platforms.
- Knowledge of instrumentation, including the calibration and maintenance of sensors, actuators, transmitters, and other process control devices.
- Familiarity with preventive and predictive maintenance methodologies.
- Good understanding of electrical safety standards, regulations, and industry best practices.
