The Environmental Education Coordinator will be based in Accra, Ghana, and hosted by A Rocha Ghana. The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening environmental education across A Rocha’s global network by connecting practitioners, facilitating collaboration, developing resources, and supporting innovative conservation initiatives.

Position Summary

As the Environmental Education Coordinator, you will lead the coordination of A Rocha’s global Environmental Education Community of Practice. You will strengthen collaboration across the international network, develop practical learning resources, facilitate knowledge exchange, support fundraising initiatives, and enhance monitoring, evaluation, and learning for environmental education programmes.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

• Coordinate and facilitate A Rocha’s global Environmental Education Community of Practice.
• Organise and deliver engaging online and in-person learning events, workshops, webinars, and knowledge-sharing opportunities.
• Develop, curate, and distribute practical environmental education resources across the A Rocha network.
• Identify fundraising opportunities, contribute to grant proposals, and support the development of collaborative projects.
• Strengthen monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) systems for environmental education programmes by developing indicators and measuring programme impact.
• Coordinate and promote shared international initiatives, including the Plastics Toolkit, International Coastal Cleanup, and the Great Global Nurdle Hunt.
• Provide environmental education expertise to support A Rocha’s conservation and church engagement programmes.
• Promote initiatives that encourage greater participation, leadership, and inclusion of women in conservation.
• Build strong relationships with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders across the global A Rocha network.
• Collaborate effectively across multiple countries and time zones to achieve shared organisational goals.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will have:

• A university degree in Environmental Education, Environmental Science, Conservation, Natural Resource Management, Education, or a related field.
• A minimum of five (5) years’ professional experience in environmental education or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience designing, implementing, or leading environmental education programmes.
• Strong understanding of the role of education in achieving effective conservation outcomes.
• Experience facilitating networks, partnerships, and collaborative learning initiatives.
• Proven experience contributing to fundraising proposals and resource mobilisation.
• Strong expertise in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) methodologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Additional language skills, particularly French and/or Spanish, will be an advantage.
• Experience working with culturally diverse teams and international partners.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple time zones.
• A valid passport and willingness to undertake international travel when required.
