Field Overseer (Full-Time)

Location: Takoradi, Ghana

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Field Overseer to join our Plantation Operations team. The successful candidate will supervise field activities, coordinate field workers, monitor harvesting and maintenance operations, and ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.


Position Summary

The Field Overseer is responsible for supervising daily plantation field operations to ensure harvesting, maintenance, and workforce activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards. The role requires effective team leadership, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

Field Operations

  • Supervise daily harvesting and plantation maintenance activities to ensure productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate field workers and allocate tasks to achieve operational targets.
  • Monitor field operations to ensure compliance with company procedures and agricultural best practices.
  • Conduct routine field inspections and report operational issues requiring corrective action.
  • Ensure the proper use and maintenance of field equipment and tools.
  • Promote safe work practices and maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance.

Team Leadership

  • Lead, motivate, and supervise a diverse workforce to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Provide guidance and support to field employees to improve productivity and performance.
  • Monitor attendance, work quality, and discipline within assigned teams.
  • Foster a collaborative, respectful, and productive working environment.

Health, Safety and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Administer First Aid when required and report workplace incidents promptly.
  • Identify potential safety hazards and recommend corrective actions to minimize operational risks.

Reporting and Administration

  • Prepare accurate daily, weekly, and monthly field operation reports.
  • Maintain records of harvesting activities, maintenance work, labour deployment, and field performance.
  • Communicate operational updates, challenges, and recommendations to management.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing plantation productivity and operational efficiency.

Working Experience and Educational Qualifications

Education

  • Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, or Certificate in Agriculture or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in plantation operations, agriculture, or a related field.
  • Experience supervising field operations and managing teams will be an advantage.
