Role Purpose

The Finance / Operations Manager will oversee financial management and operational activities to ensure efficiency, compliance, and sound financial performance. The successful candidate will provide strategic and technical leadership in financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and operational execution, while ensuring adherence to regulatory and organisational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial and operational activities to ensure efficiency and accuracy in service delivery.
• Prepare, analyse, and interpret financial statements in compliance with IFRS and internal reporting standards.
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to support organisational objectives.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls, and audit requirements.
• Monitor financial performance and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Supervise and develop finance and operations teams to achieve high performance standards.
• Strengthen internal control systems and ensure effective risk management practices.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audit processes and compliance reviews.
• Support operational improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and customer service delivery.
• Provide leadership in banking operations where applicable, ensuring smooth transactional processes.
• Prepare management reports and present financial and operational performance updates to senior leadership.

Educational Qualification

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A Master’s Degree or professional qualification such as ICA, ACCA, or CIB is highly desirable.

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in finance or accounting.
• At least three (3) years in a managerial or supervisory role, preferably within the banking sector.
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, IFRS reporting standards, and banking operations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail, and financial discipline.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
