Role Overview
The Fleet Operations Manager will oversee and optimize fleet and transport operations across Northern Ghana. The successful candidate will manage heavy-duty truck operations, tractor mechanization activities, and agricultural logistics while ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness. This role requires a highly organized and results-driven professional with strong leadership and technical expertise in fleet and rural operational management.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage day-to-day fleet and transport operations across operational areas.
- Oversee heavy-duty truck operations, tractor mechanization activities, and commodity transportation processes.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve fleet efficiency, utilization, and operational performance.
- Monitor vehicle and machinery maintenance schedules to ensure reliability and minimize downtime.
- Coordinate logistics operations to support commodity aggregation and agricultural value chain activities.
- Supervise and support field-based operational teams to ensure productivity and compliance with operational standards.
- Analyze operational data and prepare fleet performance reports for management.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, operational procedures, and transport standards.
- Identify operational challenges and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and performance.
- Manage vendor, driver, and stakeholder relationships to ensure smooth transport operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s Degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in fleet management, agribusiness logistics, international trade, rural operations, or related areas.
- At least two (2) years of managerial or supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of heavy-duty truck operations, tractor mechanization, commodity aggregation, and agricultural value chains.
- Experience supervising field-based teams within rural operational environments.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and commercial transport management skills.
- Proficiency in fleet management systems and advanced Google Workspace skills, especially Google Sheets.
- Strong technical understanding of vehicles, agricultural machinery, and maintenance operations.
- Ability to introduce structure, improve processes, and perform effectively in fast-paced rural operational environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and decision-making abilities.
- High level of professionalism, accountability, and attention to detail.
