Position Summary
Impact Food Hub is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Food Scientist to support research, product development, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance initiatives. Key Responsibilities
Research & Analysis
- Analyze raw materials, ingredients, and finished products to ensure compliance with established specifications and quality standards.
- Conduct laboratory testing and interpret results to support product development, process optimization, and quality control activities.
- Investigate quality concerns, customer complaints, and non-conformance reports, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate records of laboratory testing, research findings, product development activities, and technical documentation.
- Evaluate new ingredients, technologies, and food trends to support innovation and business growth.
Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all products comply with applicable local and international food regulations, standards, and labeling requirements.
- Monitor developments in food legislation, scientific advancements, and emerging industry trends.
- Support product registration, certification, and regulatory documentation processes.
- Assist with internal and external audits, inspections, and compliance assessments.
- Contribute to the implementation and maintenance of food safety and quality management systems.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate closely with production, procurement, marketing, quality assurance, and operations teams to achieve product and quality objectives.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide technical guidance and support on food science, food safety, and quality-related matters across the organization.
- Contribute to innovation projects and the development of new products and processes.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of relevant experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, food safety, product development, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, quality management systems, and food production processes.
- Experience working with HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, or related standards will be an advantage.
- Familiarity with laboratory testing procedures and food analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and data reporting tools.
