We are seeking an experienced and highly respected GMC Head, ASA International – Entities to lead grievance management and compliance initiatives across the organization. The successful candidate will ensure the fair, confidential, and timely resolution of employee grievances while promoting transparency, compliance, and adherence to organizational policies and labour laws.

Position Summary

The GMC Head will oversee the Grievance Management Committee (GMC) function by managing employee complaints, appeals, investigations, reporting, and compliance activities. The role requires a strategic leader with strong conflict resolution skills, extensive management experience, and the ability to uphold organizational values while ensuring fairness and compliance with labour regulations and ASA International policies.

Key Responsibilities

Grievance Management

  • Receive, register, and manage employee complaints, appeals, and direct grievance cases in accordance with established procedures.
  • Open and document all employee complaints and appeals submitted to the Grievance Management Committee.
  • Immediately escalate appeals, direct complaints, and significant grievance cases to the ASA International Group GMC for guidance and compliance review.
  • Ensure grievance investigations are conducted fairly, objectively, confidentially, and in accordance with Group GMC policies and applicable labour laws.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality throughout all grievance management processes.

Compliance and Governance

  • Ensure all grievance management activities comply with ASA International policies, internal procedures, and relevant employment legislation.
  • Review disciplinary actions to ensure consistency with organizational policies and legal requirements.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of HR policies and procedures to identify inconsistencies with labour laws and recommend improvements.
  • Monitor compliance relating to employee matters, including termination, promotion, demotion, transfers, disciplinary actions, salary increments, and other employment decisions.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare and submit accurate monthly reports on grievance management activities within established timelines.
  • Prepare monthly meeting and appeal reports summarizing complaints, appeals, investigations, and resolutions.
  • Submit monthly complaint follow-up reports detailing the status of ongoing grievance cases.
  • Prepare punishment compliance reports to assess whether disciplinary actions align with organizational policies.
  • Compile quarterly reports on appeals and direct complaints for submission to the Group GMC.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and confidential records for all grievance cases.

Training and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead Grievance Management Committee presentations during employee orientation programmes.
  • Facilitate grievance management training sessions and awareness programmes for employees and management.
  • Participate in exit interviews to identify trends and opportunities for improving employee relations.
  • Support online learning initiatives relating to grievance management, ethics, and compliance.
  • Serve as the primary resource person on grievance management matters across the organization.

Investigation and Monitoring

  • Conduct branch visits and investigations where necessary following guidance from the ASA International Group GMC.
  • Gather evidence, interview relevant stakeholders, and prepare comprehensive investigation reports.
  • Identify trends in employee grievances and recommend proactive measures to improve employee engagement and organizational culture.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to strengthen grievance management systems and workplace relations.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Management, Law, Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10–15 years’ progressive management experience in leadership, human resources, employee relations, legal, compliance, or governance roles.
  • Experience managing employee grievance, disciplinary, compliance, or conflict resolution processes.
  • Strong understanding of Ghanaian labour laws and employment regulations.
  • Experience within financial services, banking, or microfinance institutions will be an added advantage.
  • Experienced retired female professionals are encouraged to apply.
