Job Summary
Letshego Ghana seeks a results-driven and people-focused Group Loans Team Lead to supervise field operations, drive portfolio growth, and ensure high-quality loan performance. The successful candidate will lead a team of Loan Officers, oversee group lending activities, and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
The role requires strong leadership, operational oversight, and a commitment to customer service excellence while maintaining portfolio quality and minimizing risk.
Key Responsibilities
A. Supervision & Team Performance
- Supervise, guide, and motivate Loan Officers to achieve weekly and monthly targets
- Monitor team performance in loan disbursements, collections, savings mobilization, and customer service
- Provide ongoing coaching, training, and performance feedback to enhance team productivity
B. Group Loan Operations
- Ensure timely and accurate loan disbursement to customer groups
- Monitor loan repayments and enforce zero tolerance for non-performing loans
- Oversee weekly group meetings, collections, savings contributions, and repayment behavior
- Promote responsible lending and proper utilization of loan funds
C. Quality Assurance & Field Monitoring
- Conduct regular field visits with Loan Officers to validate group activities and customer records
- Review loan documentation, group registers, savings records, and repayment schedules for accuracy
- Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly to protect portfolio quality
D. Customer & Community Engagement
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customer groups and community stakeholders
- Support the resolution of customer concerns and repayment challenges professionally
- Promote excellent customer service and uphold customer rights
E. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and submit accurate daily and weekly reports on disbursements, collections, and portfolio performance
- Ensure all customer records and system entries comply with company policies
- Support monthly performance reviews and provide insights on trends and improvements
F. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure strict adherence to Letshego Ghana credit policies, internal controls, and Bank of Ghana regulations
- Identify high-risk accounts early and escalate issues for timely resolution
- Promote sound lending practices to minimize defaults and maintain portfolio quality
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Maintain loan portfolio quality within NPL targets
- Report overdue loans within 24 hours
- Achieve team sales and collection targets
- Ensure timely submission of all reports
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records
- Resolve customer issues within 48 hours
- Ensure full compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards
Requirements
- Minimum of HND in a relevant field
- At least 3 years’ experience in sales, business development, or customer relationship management
