Position Purpose
The Head, Sales and Branch Operations will lead and oversee the institution’s branch network and sales operations to drive sustainable growth, operational excellence, portfolio quality, customer satisfaction, and social performance. The role will ensure effective implementation of business strategies, operational policies, and performance standards across all branches while fostering strong integration with World Vision’s mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership and Business Development
- Support the Chief Executive Officer in developing and implementing the institution’s Business Plan in collaboration with the Head of Finance and Administration.
- Provide strategic leadership to ensure effective integration with World Vision and promote the institution’s social performance objectives.
- Drive the achievement of business plan targets and key performance indicators while ensuring compliance with microfinance industry standards.
- Contribute to the design, implementation, review, and enhancement of products, services, operational procedures, and delivery channels.
- Ensure the institution remains competitive within the Ghanaian microfinance sector through innovative products, excellent customer service, and measurable social impact.
Branch Operations Management
- Lead, coordinate, and monitor branch operations to ensure efficiency, productivity, profitability, and operational security.
- Oversee network development initiatives and support branch expansion activities in line with organizational growth objectives.
- Ensure consistent implementation of operational policies, procedures, and controls across all branches.
- Monitor branch performance and provide timely interventions to address operational challenges and improve results.
- Ensure systematic follow-up and resolution of issues identified within branch operations.
Portfolio Quality and Risk Management
- Safeguard the quality and sustainability of the institution’s credit portfolio.
- Ensure regular review and enhancement of credit policies, operational guidelines, and risk management practices.
- Monitor portfolio quality indicators and implement corrective actions to maintain performance within approved institutional thresholds.
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to established policies and procedures.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Consolidate, analyze, and interpret monthly, quarterly, and annual financial, portfolio, operational, and social impact reports from all branches.
- Recommend and implement actions to improve performance and ensure key indicators remain within acceptable institutional limits.
- Prepare and submit accurate, timely, and comprehensive reports to management, the Board, World Vision, regulators, and other stakeholders as required.
- Utilize data and performance metrics to support strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
People Leadership and Capacity Building
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop branch managers, regional managers, and field staff to achieve operational and business objectives.
- Ensure staff are adequately trained, equipped, motivated, and supported to deliver exceptional performance.
- Foster a high-performance culture characterized by accountability, teamwork, customer focus, and continuous improvement.
- Promote effective communication, collaboration, and knowledge sharing across the branch network.
Christian Commitment and Organizational Culture
- Demonstrate and uphold Christian values in all aspects of leadership and decision-making.
- Actively participate in and support the spiritual life and activities of the institution.
- Promote VisionFund Ghana’s mission, vision, and core values throughout the organization.
Knowledge, Skills and Capabilities
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Economics, Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Management, or a related field. A postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 6–8 years of progressive experience in microfinance, banking, or financial services.
- Proven experience in operations management, branch management, sales leadership, or commercial activities within the banking or microfinance sector.
- Strong knowledge of microfinance operations, including credit and savings products.
- Sound understanding of Ghana’s microfinance regulatory environment and industry best practices.
- Experience using banking or microfinance management systems; knowledge of T24 software will be an advantage.
- Demonstrated success in leading, developing, and managing geographically dispersed teams.

Language Requirements
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in Akan will be an added advantage.
Travel and Work Arrangements
- The position is based in Accra, Ghana.
- The role requires willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 15% of the time.
