Position Summary
Mass Industries Limited is seeking a proactive and experienced Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Officer to support the implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s health, safety, and environmental management programs. The successful candidate will play a critical role in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, minimizing workplace risks, and supporting environmental sustainability initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety Management
- Implement and monitor health and safety policies, procedures, and programs across the organization.
- Conduct regular workplace inspections to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform risk assessments and support the implementation of effective control measures.
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations.
- Monitor compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and company standards.
- Facilitate safety training, awareness programs, toolbox talks, and emergency response drills.
- Promote a positive safety culture by encouraging employee engagement and safe work practices.
Environmental Management
- Support the implementation of environmental management programs and sustainability initiatives.
- Monitor environmental performance and ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations and standards.
- Assist in waste management, pollution prevention, resource conservation, and environmental reporting activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve environmental performance and operational sustainability.
Compliance, Audits & Reporting
- Conduct internal HSE audits and inspections to assess compliance and identify improvement opportunities.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and documentation.
- Support external audits, regulatory inspections, and certification processes.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Prepare and submit HSE performance reports and key metrics to management.
Continuous Improvement
- Collaborate with departmental teams to strengthen workplace safety and environmental performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing risks and enhancing operational efficiency.
- Stay informed about emerging HSE regulations, industry best practices, and technological developments.
- Provide technical guidance and support on HSE-related matters across the organization.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional HSE certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, or an equivalent qualification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years of relevant experience in health, safety, and environmental management, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety audits.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HSE reporting tools.
