Position Overview
SigmaStrat is seeking a highly experienced and safety-focused HSE & Chemical Safety Specialist to lead health, safety, and environmental compliance across its operations. The role ensures strict adherence to safety standards, particularly in chemical handling and hazardous materials management within a high-risk operational environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and enforce health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance across all operational activities.
- Conduct risk assessments and implement effective mitigation measures.
- Lead toolbox talks and safety briefings to reinforce safe work practices.
- Perform regular safety audits and inspections to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Ensure safe handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Develop and deliver HSE training programs, including emergency response preparedness.
- Monitor safety performance indicators and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all teams and operational levels.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Demonstrates strong expertise in chemical safety and hazardous materials management.
- Operates effectively in safety-critical and high-pressure environments.
- Brings a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a similar HSE role.
- Possesses proven experience within Upstream Oil & Gas operations (African experience is an advantage).
- Communicates clearly and works effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Shows strong discipline, accountability, and commitment to safety excellence.
- Applies proactive problem-solving skills to manage operational risks.
