IGCSE/A Level Business Studies Teacher

Location: Tema – Golf City, Ghana
Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate IGCSE/A Level Business Studies Teacher to inspire learners and deliver high-quality instruction within the Cambridge curriculum framework.

Role Purpose

The IGCSE/A Level Business Studies Teacher will deliver engaging, student-centred instruction that develops learners’ understanding of business concepts, economics principles, and real-world commercial applications. The successful candidate will foster critical thinking, entrepreneurial awareness, and academic excellence while supporting students’ preparation for Cambridge examinations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Business Studies lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE and A Level curriculum.
  • Teach core business concepts including marketing, finance, operations, human resources, and business strategy.
  • Develop engaging learning activities that promote analytical thinking, problem-solving, and real-world application of business principles.
  • Assess, monitor, and evaluate student progress, providing timely and constructive feedback to support academic improvement.
  • Prepare students effectively for internal assessments and Cambridge examinations.
  • Maintain accurate academic records, assessment data, and student performance reports.
  • Create a structured, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes active participation and learning.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Integrate educational technology and case studies to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and cross-disciplinary academic initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and academic performance.
  • Participate actively in departmental meetings, school activities, co-curricular programmes, and professional development sessions.
  • Uphold the Christian values, ethos, and mission of GIU International Christian Academy in all teaching and professional conduct.

Qualifications, Experience & Competencies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Business Administration, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ teaching experience in Business Studies or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching IGCSE and/or A Level Business Studies will be an advantage.
  • Ability to teach Economics in addition to Business Studies will be an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with the Cambridge International Curriculum will be an advantage.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

  • Strong subject knowledge in Business Studies and related disciplines.
  • Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire students to develop analytical and entrepreneurial thinking.
  • Strong organisational, planning, and assessment skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and educational technology tools.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and academic excellence.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary academic team.
  • Strong alignment with Christian values and the ethos of the Academy.
