Position Summary
The Junior Technical Advisor will provide technical, administrative, and coordination support to the project team, with a focus on effective implementation, documentation, and stakeholder engagement. The role supports project planning, reporting, knowledge management, and capacity-building initiatives, particularly in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment, the Labour Department, and other key partners.
The successful candidate will contribute to ensuring smooth project operations, timely delivery of outputs, and effective communication across teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and support team activities, including progress tracking, reporting, and review processes.
- Ensure team members are informed of key deadlines, deliverables, and upcoming activities to support timely execution.
- Assist in planning, organizing, and documenting team meetings and project discussions.
- Maintain and manage project documentation and knowledge systems across MS Teams, DMS, and OneDrive.
- Support onboarding processes and orientation sessions for new staff members.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to facility management and project asset administration.
- Contribute to capacity-building initiatives for the Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment, the Labour Department, and other project partners.
- Prepare, review, and compile reports, briefing notes, research summaries, and other project-related documents.
- Provide general administrative and operational support to the project team.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Team Leader in line with project objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Health Services, or any other project-related field.
Experience and Skills
- Minimum of one (1) year of professional experience in international development, project management, social work, public policy, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of migration issues in Ghana, particularly Migration and Development, Reintegration, and Employment.
- Experience working with international organizations, development partners, or donor-funded projects.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); proficiency in a Ghanaian language is required.
- Knowledge of German language will be considered an advantage.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- High level of flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel within and outside Ghana when required.
