Role Overview

The Loan Officer plays a key role in supporting the company’s lending operations by sourcing new clients, assessing loan applications, and monitoring loan portfolios. The role involves guiding clients through the loan process, ensuring timely repayments, and supporting loan recovery activities where necessary.

This position is ideal for proactive individuals who enjoy working with customers, analyzing financial information, and contributing to responsible lending practices.

Key Responsibilities

The Loan Officer will:

• Source and onboard new loan clients in line with the company’s lending strategy.

• Assess loan applications and evaluate the creditworthiness of potential clients.

• Process and disburse approved loans in accordance with company policies and procedures.

• Monitor loan portfolios and ensure timely loan repayments.

• Follow up on overdue loans and support loan recovery efforts.

• Maintain accurate records of client information and loan transactions.

• Provide excellent customer service and educate clients on loan products and repayment terms.

• Prepare basic reports on loan performance, collections, and portfolio status.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

• A Diploma or HND in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

• 0–2 years of experience in lending, credit analysis, banking, or a related field.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work with financial data and relevant software tools.

• Good understanding of loan products and lending services.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
