Job Summary

Vitara seeks a proactive and detail-oriented Monitoring Officer to oversee field operations, coordinate mechanization services, and ensure efficient use of resources. The Monitoring Officer will supervise field teams, track equipment operations, and maintain accurate records to support operational excellence and productivity across our agricultural programs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise field teams, equipment operators, and tractor operations to ensure safe and efficient workflow.
  • Monitor mechanization services, including equipment usage, maintenance, and fuel tracking.
  • Coordinate fleet operations and ensure timely deployment of tractors and machinery.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze field data using Google Sheets or mobile data collection tools.
  • Maintain high standards of accuracy, attention to detail, and accountability in all reporting.
  • Resolve conflicts and manage relationships with stakeholders, team members, and partners.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and operational procedures.
  • Travel extensively to field sites and perform field-based supervision under varying conditions.
  • Support planning and operational decisions through timely reporting and recommendations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or HND in Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agribusiness, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience in agricultural operations, mechanization services, or field supervision.
  • Proven experience supervising field teams or equipment operators.
  • Knowledge of tractor operations, basic maintenance, and fleet coordination.
  • Familiarity with fuel tracking and equipment management systems.
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets or mobile data collection tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and observational skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • High integrity, accountability, and commitment to safety.
  • Willingness to work extensively in rural and field-based environments.
  • Valid Class E driver’s license.
  • Knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
  • Ability to work irregular hours during peak farming seasons.
