Role Summary

The Music Teacher will deliver engaging and high-quality music instruction that fosters creativity, musical appreciation, and performance skills. The successful candidate will create an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment, encourage student participation, and support the school’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic development.

Key Responsibilities

As the Music Teacher, you will:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging music lessons that meet curriculum objectives.
• Inspire students to develop musical knowledge, creativity, performance skills, and confidence.
• Teach music theory, vocal and instrumental performance, and music appreciation as appropriate to students’ age and ability.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and student-centred learning environment.
• Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Organize and support school concerts, musical performances, assemblies, and other extracurricular music activities.
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies into music instruction where appropriate.
• Maintain effective classroom management and promote positive student behaviour.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support student development.
• Participate actively in school events, staff meetings, professional development activities, and school improvement initiatives.
• Uphold the school’s Christian values and contribute positively to its faith-based culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Music Education, Music, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification or professional teaching licence.

Experience

• Previous teaching experience in a primary or secondary school environment is preferred.
• Experience delivering the American, International, or International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum is an advantage.
• Experience directing school choirs, ensembles, or musical performances is desirable.
