Position Overview
The Planning Engineer plays a key role in project planning, scheduling, and progress monitoring. The successful candidate will develop project schedules, track performance against timelines, and coordinate with project teams to ensure efficient project execution and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Develop detailed project schedules and work plans for construction activities.
Monitor project progress and compare actual performance with planned schedules.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure project timelines are achieved.
Prepare and update project planning reports, schedules, and progress documentation.
Identify potential delays and recommend corrective actions to maintain project timelines.
Support project teams with planning tools, forecasting, and resource allocation.
Review project drawings, specifications, and scope of work to ensure accurate planning.
Maintain accurate records of project progress and planning updates.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related engineering field.
Professional training or certification in project planning or scheduling will be an added advantage.
Relevant experience in construction planning, scheduling, or project coordination is desirable.
Skills and Competencies
Strong knowledge of construction planning and scheduling principles.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical documents, and project schedules.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational and coordination abilities.
Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Commitment to quality, safety, and timely project delivery.
