Position Summary

MTN Ghana seeks an experienced and results-driven professional for the role of Project Lead, IT Projects Implementation. The successful candidate will coordinate, manage, and deliver IT projects that support business transformation, operational efficiency, and technological advancement across the organization.

The role requires strong project management expertise, stakeholder engagement capabilities, and the ability to manage multiple IT initiatives within a dynamic telecom environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of IT projects across the organization
• Define project scope, objectives, timelines, deliverables, and resource requirements
• Ensure projects are delivered within scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations
• Coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to support successful project execution
• Apply Agile and Scrum methodologies to improve project delivery efficiency
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates, reports, and performance insights
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and implementation challenges
• Ensure compliance with project governance frameworks and operational standards
• Support stakeholder engagement and maintain effective communication throughout project lifecycles
• Assist with change management initiatives to support adoption of new systems and technologies
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs
• Monitor project budgets and support effective financial management processes

Required Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is mandatory

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in telecom IT project management
• Experience working with Agile and Scrum methodologies
• Strong understanding of IT project management principles and best practices

Training

• Formal training in Project Management methodologies such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile
• Training in:
  • Stakeholder Management
  • Project Governance
  • Risk Management
  • Project Reporting

Technical & Functional Competencies

• Strong understanding of IT project management methodologies and frameworks
• Knowledge of telecommunications industry standards and regulations
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies and change management practices
• Basic understanding of project budgeting and financial management
• Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills
• Effective stakeholder management and communication abilities
• Awareness of emerging technologies and their application within IT project environments
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving business environment
