Role Overview

The Sales Trader will execute securities trades on behalf of clients and the firm while delivering strategic insights and maintaining strict compliance with regulatory standards. The role requires a proactive professional who can build strong market relationships, interpret market trends, and contribute to the firm’s trading performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute the buying and selling of securities for private, corporate, institutional clients, and proprietary accounts.
• Develop and implement trading strategies to achieve optimal execution and secure prices better than target benchmarks.
• Ensure all trading activities comply with the rules and regulations of the Ghana Stock Exchange and applicable market integrity standards.
• Provide timely and relevant advice on trading activities and market developments to internal stakeholders.
• Build and sustain strategic relationships with key market participants, including regulators, brokerage firms, portfolio managers, and prospective investors.
• Maintain active engagement with brokers, portfolio managers, and agent banks to stay informed of market developments that may impact trading decisions.
• Generate and communicate investment insights, trade ideas, and market intelligence to clients and internal teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (MBA is an advantage).
• Successful completion of relevant certification programs, including GISI and Ghana Stock Exchange courses, or other certifications required by the Securities and Exchange Commission.
• Must be a Registered Securities Dealer (RSD) with the Ghana Stock Exchange.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ proven experience in securities trading within the financial services industry.
• Strong working knowledge of capital markets, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, commodities, and foreign exchange.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret and disseminate investment research and trade ideas effectively.
• Solid understanding of financial analysis, valuation techniques, and market dynamics.
• Strong grasp of macroeconomic principles, including monetary and fiscal policy and their impact on financial markets.
