We are seeking an experienced, visionary, and passionate School Principal to lead our school community, inspire excellence in teaching and learning, and drive continuous improvement across all aspects of school life.

Position Summary

The School Principal will provide strategic leadership for the school’s academic and administrative operations, ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning, student welfare, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will cultivate a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation while strengthening the school’s reputation and delivering outstanding educational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Provide Strategic Leadership

  • Lead the overall management and administration of the school in alignment with its vision, mission, and strategic objectives.
  • Develop and implement initiatives that enhance academic performance, operational efficiency, and institutional growth.
  • Promote a culture of excellence, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement across the school.

Drive Excellence in Teaching and Learning

  • Monitor, evaluate, and improve teaching quality, curriculum delivery, and student learning outcomes.
  • Provide instructional leadership that supports effective teaching practices and academic excellence.
  • Ensure that student learning, development, well-being, and discipline remain central to all school decisions.
  • Foster an inclusive learning environment that supports the holistic development of every learner.

Lead Staff Performance and Development

  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of teaching and non-teaching staff.
  • Review teachers’ instructional planning and classroom performance through regular observations and end-of-week or end-of-term evaluations.
  • Conduct periodic staff performance appraisals and identify professional development opportunities.
  • Build a collaborative and high-performing team committed to continuous improvement.

Strengthen Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and the wider school community.
  • Foster open communication and encourage active collaboration to support the school’s educational priorities.
  • Represent the school professionally with education authorities, community partners, and other external stakeholders.

Governance, Reporting, and School Management

  • Collaborate with relevant departments to prepare and submit comprehensive monthly performance reports to the Board.
  • Ensure compliance with educational policies, statutory requirements, and school governance standards.
  • Oversee the effective management of school resources to support operational excellence and long-term sustainability.

Promote a Safe and Positive School Culture

  • Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment where every student feels respected, supported, and empowered to succeed.
  • Ensure that safeguarding, health, and safety policies are consistently implemented throughout the school.

Qualifications and Experience

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; a Bachelor of Education degree is required.
  • A postgraduate qualification in Education, Educational Leadership, School Management, or a related discipline will be an added advantage.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the education sector, including significant experience in a school leadership or management role.
  • Demonstrated success in improving teaching quality, student achievement, and overall school performance.
  • Strong leadership, strategic planning, organisational, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • A strong commitment to improving student academic performance and educational outcomes.
  • The ability to promote a safe, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment.
