Position Overview

The Faculty of Built and Natural Environment (FBNE) invites applications from qualified, experienced, and research-oriented academics for appointment as Senior Lecturer. The successful candidates will contribute to teaching, research, curriculum development, and professional engagement across specialized areas within the Faculty.

• Real Estate Management (Estate/Facility Management – Research focus)

Department of Quantity Surveying and Commercial Practice

• Measurement and Estimating
• Land Surveying

Department of Building Services Engineering

• Mechanical Engineering (Refrigeration and Air-conditioning)

Department of Environmental Management and Technology

• Sustainable Water and Sanitation Management

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Lecturer will:

• Deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, and practical instruction at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
• Supervise student research projects, theses, and dissertations
• Design, review, and update curricula to align with industry standards and emerging trends
• Conduct impactful research and publish in reputable peer-reviewed journals
• Contribute to academic leadership and departmental governance
• Engage in consultancy, industry collaboration, and professional outreach
• Support faculty development and institutional academic initiatives

Qualification and Experience Requirements

Applicants must:

• Hold a PhD in a relevant field of specialization
• Have been appointed as Senior Lecturer in a recognized public or accredited private tertiary institution (Ghana or internationally)
• Have a minimum of four (4) years of teaching experience at Lecturer level
• Demonstrate strong capacity for continuous research and scholarly publication
• Have at least six (6) publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals

Added Advantages:

• Relevant industry experience in built and natural environment practice
• Membership of a recognized professional body
