We are seeking a highly analytical, commercially minded, and technology-driven professional to join our team as Senior Specialist, Digital Analytics & Reporting. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape strategic decisions through actionable insights, advanced analytics, and performance reporting.


Position Summary

The Senior Specialist, Digital Analytics & Reporting will lead the delivery of advanced analytics, business intelligence, and performance reporting across MTN Ghana’s digital portfolio. The role will provide strategic insights that support revenue growth, customer engagement, operational efficiency, and digital innovation.

The successful candidate will work closely with Digital, Finance, Marketing, Product, and Technology teams to transform complex data into actionable recommendations that drive business performance and enhance decision-making.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Commercial Insights

  • Provide advanced analytics and business insights to support strategic decision-making across digital products, platforms, and services.
  • Conduct deep-dive analyses of customer behavior, engagement, retention, conversion funnels, and transaction performance to identify growth opportunities.
  • Develop data-driven recommendations to optimize pricing strategies, investment decisions, profitability, and cost management.
  • Support prioritization and resource allocation for digital product enhancements and customer experience initiatives through evidence-based insights.

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Develop, automate, and maintain executive dashboards and performance reports covering digital KPIs, revenue drivers, subscriber growth, customer lifetime value, and campaign effectiveness.
  • Monitor and analyze digital performance trends to provide visibility into business outcomes and value creation.
  • Lead financial and operational reporting processes for the Digital Division, including monthly business reviews, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Deliver timely and accurate reports that support executive and management decision-making.

Planning, Forecasting & Financial Management

  • Drive the preparation of annual business plans, digital revenue targets, financial forecasts, and operational budgets.
  • Support OPEX and CAPEX planning processes for the Digital Division.
  • Ensure alignment between digital analytics, financial performance, forecasts, and strategic objectives.
  • Provide analytical support for business cases, investment evaluations, and growth initiatives.

Operational Excellence & Data Governance

  • Collaborate with Business Intelligence, Finance, Marketing, Product, and Technology teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity.
  • Establish and maintain reporting standards, data definitions, governance frameworks, and best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement in analytics processes, methodologies, and reporting efficiency.
  • Promote enterprise-wide visibility and understanding of digital performance metrics.

Capability Enablement & Knowledge Sharing

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in digital analytics and reporting.
  • Provide guidance and support to stakeholders on interpreting and applying data insights effectively.
  • Promote a data-driven culture by enhancing analytics literacy across the organization.
  • Support the adoption of reporting tools, dashboards, and analytical solutions.

Data Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with MTN’s data governance, information security, privacy, and reporting standards.
  • Support data quality initiatives and enforce single-source-of-truth principles.
  • Identify and proactively address data-related risks, inconsistencies, and control gaps.
  • Ensure analytics and reporting processes support regulatory and financial reporting requirements.

Innovation & Advanced Analytics

  • Explore emerging analytics methodologies, advanced metrics, and innovative use cases to enhance business insights.
  • Support experimentation, predictive analytics, cohort analysis, customer segmentation, and performance modeling initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence and advanced analytics tools to improve business outcomes.
  • Monitor industry trends and recommend innovative approaches to maintain MTN’s competitive advantage.

Stakeholder Experience & Insight Adoption

  • Tailor reporting outputs, dashboards, and insights to meet the needs of different stakeholder groups.
  • Simplify complex data and analytical findings into clear, actionable business recommendations.
  • Improve stakeholder confidence and adoption of data-driven decision-making practices.
  • Build strong relationships with business leaders to ensure analytics outputs create measurable value.

Qualification & Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in Data Science, Analytics, Business Intelligence, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Power BI, Python, and AI-powered analytics tools.

Experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant experience in a digital organization or an analytics-focused function.
  • At least three (3) years of experience in a supervisory or team leadership capacity.
  • Experience in financial reporting, business performance management, or commercial analytics is an advantage.
  • Proven track record of delivering analytical insights that influence business strategy and performance.

Professional & Technical Competencies

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Strong expertise in analytics methodologies, business intelligence, and performance measurement.
  • Advanced skills in data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, data extraction, transformation, and manipulation techniques.
  • Programming skills for analytics, including Python and related technologies.
  • Knowledge of AI tools and their application in analytics and business intelligence.
  • Strong understanding of business performance management, forecasting, planning, and budgeting.
  • Knowledge of digital business models, digital marketing, and the broader digital ecosystem.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong ability to analyze KPIs, identify trends, and deliver meaningful business insights.
