Role Overview

The Technical Lead – Enterprise Virtualization & Storage Systems will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and optimizing secure, scalable infrastructure solutions. This role requires a forward-thinking leader who can combine deep technical expertise with strategic insight to support enterprise-wide initiatives and ensure resilient, high-performing systems.


Key Responsibilities

Solution Design and Architecture

  • Architect secure, end-to-end virtualization and storage solutions that meet business requirements for performance, scalability, and resilience
  • Integrate cybersecurity principles into solution designs, including secure configurations, encryption, and zero-trust architecture
  • Develop and maintain reference architectures, standards, and best practices
  • Collaborate with enterprise architects and security teams to ensure alignment with IT architecture and compliance frameworks

Strategic Impact

  • Define and enforce standards across the enterprise virtualization and storage domain
  • Contribute to medium- and large-scale projects across engineering and business teams
  • Engage business units to identify opportunities where emerging technologies can drive value

Decision Making

  • Resolve complex technical challenges within the virtualization and storage ecosystem
  • Make critical operational decisions and escalate strategic issues where necessary

Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of system architectures, configurations, and procedures
  • Produce capacity planning reports, performance dashboards, and compliance reports
  • Build and maintain a knowledge base to support operational excellence and cybersecurity awareness

Service and Support

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for virtualization and storage-related inquiries
  • Assess incidents and determine appropriate escalation paths through response teams

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with application, network, and security teams to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor to senior leadership on infrastructure strategy
  • Lead technical input during audits, compliance reviews, and strategic initiatives

Team Leadership and Development

  • Mentor, coach, and develop technical team members to build internal capability
  • Manage complex issues independently while ensuring leadership visibility
  • Advise management on industry trends and training requirements
  • Provide timely updates on activities, risks, and issue resolution

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in enterprise virtualization and storage, including at least 3 years in a leadership or architect role
  • Proven experience designing and implementing secure virtualization and storage solutions
  • Strong hands-on expertise with VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, KVM, and Microsoft Azure
  • Deep knowledge of enterprise storage platforms (Dell EMC, NetApp, Huawei, HPE, IBM)
  • Experience with private and hybrid cloud environments (Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud)
  • Strong understanding of datacenter infrastructure, networking, and TCP/IP technologies
  • Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault)
  • Solid knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, risk mitigation, and compliance standards
  • Proficiency in documentation and reporting tools such as Microsoft Office Suite and Visio
  • Experience with SAN technologies (iSCSI, Fibre Channel, zoning), hyperconverged infrastructure, and storage tiering
  • Knowledge of clustering, high availability, and fault tolerance technologies
  • Strong understanding of Linux and Windows server environments
  • Relevant industry certifications (VMware, Azure, AWS, Oracle, Red Hat, or storage certifications) are an advantage
