Role Overview

We are seeking a results-driven Technical Sales Manager to lead cybersecurity solution sales and drive revenue growth. You will combine deep technical expertise with strong commercial acumen to engage enterprise clients, deliver tailored solutions, and position Virtual Infosec Africa as a trusted cybersecurity partner.


Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Drive revenue growth by identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities in cybersecurity and IT advisory services.
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, ensuring consistent conversion of opportunities into revenue.
  • Engage C-level stakeholders and technical decision-makers to understand client needs and propose tailored solutions.

Technical Solutioning

  • Lead solution design and presentations for Managed Security Services (MSS) and cybersecurity offerings.
  • Deliver Proof-of-Concept (PoC) and Proof-of-Value (PoV) engagements to demonstrate solution effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure seamless solution delivery and customer satisfaction.

Client Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Develop long-term relationships with enterprise clients to drive retention and upsell opportunities.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on cybersecurity strategy, SOC operations, and threat management.

Market Positioning & Thought Leadership

  • Represent Virtual Infosec Africa at industry forums, webinars, and events.
  • Contribute to regulatory research and market positioning initiatives.
  • Build strategic thought leadership through podcasts, whitepapers, and industry insights.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 5–8 years’ experience in cybersecurity, or 12+ years in technical sales or IT advisory roles.
  • Demonstrated hands-on or advisory experience in Security Operations Center (SOC) environments.
  • Strong expertise in SIEM platforms (e.g., LogRhythm) and threat detection systems.
  • Proven success in selling Managed Security Services (MSS) or cybersecurity solutions.
  • Experience delivering PoC/PoV engagements and managing enterprise client relationships.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent.
  • Certified SOC Analyst (CSA) or similar certification.
  • Vendor certifications (e.g., LogRhythm or comparable SIEM platforms).
  • Additional certifications in GRC, cloud security, or penetration testing are advantageous.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Growth in MSS and IT advisory revenue.
  • Pipeline development, value, and conversion rates.
  • Successful execution of PoC/PoV engagements and technical wins.
  • Customer acquisition and retention performance.
  • Contribution to market positioning and brand credibility.
