Role Overview
Maamani Ghana seeks an experienced and strategic Head of Production & Commodity Sourcing to lead crop production operations and oversee end-to-end commodity sourcing activities. You will drive productivity across farming systems, strengthen supply chain efficiency, and build strong partnerships with both smallholder and large-scale commercial farmers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage crop production activities to ensure high yields, quality, and efficiency
- Develop and implement production plans aligned with seasonal and market demand
- Oversee commodity sourcing operations, ensuring consistent and reliable supply from farming partners
- Build and maintain strong relationships with smallholder farmers and large-scale farming operations
- Supervise harvesting, aggregation, storage, and primary processing activities
- Monitor supply chain performance and implement improvements in logistics and procurement processes
- Ensure compliance with agricultural best practices, sustainability standards, and quality requirements
- Analyze production and sourcing data to support planning and decision-making
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and logistics teams to optimize cost efficiency
- Provide leadership and guidance to field teams and extension officers
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agribusiness, or a related field
- 5–10 years of progressive experience in crop production and commodity sourcing
- Strong experience in supply chain management within agricultural or agribusiness environments
- Proven experience working with both smallholder farmers and large-scale farming operations
- Strong understanding of production systems, post-harvest handling, and commodity markets
- Demonstrated leadership, planning, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities
