Role Overview

The Human Resources Manager will lead and execute strategic HR initiatives that align with business objectives. The role requires a dynamic leader who can build strong teams, enhance employee engagement, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards within the insurance and pensions sectors.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic HR Leadership

  • Develop and implement HR strategies that support business growth, workforce planning, and organizational effectiveness
  • Partner with executive leadership to align human capital initiatives with corporate goals
  • Lead change management and culture transformation initiatives across business units

Talent Acquisition and Management

  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment and selection processes to attract top-tier talent
  • Build and maintain talent pipelines and succession plans for critical roles
  • Drive structured onboarding programs that accelerate employee integration and productivity

Performance and Rewards Management

  • Design and manage performance management systems that drive accountability and results
  • Oversee competitive and equitable compensation and benefits structures
  • Advise management on performance improvement plans and disciplinary processes

Employee Relations and Engagement

  • Cultivate a positive, inclusive workplace culture that promotes engagement and high performance
  • Manage employee relations matters with fairness, consistency, and professionalism
  • Lead employee engagement surveys and implement actionable improvement plans

Learning and Development

  • Identify organizational training needs and implement effective learning programs
  • Promote continuous professional development, particularly within regulated insurance and pensions operations

Compliance and HR Operations

  • Ensure full compliance with Ghana Labour Laws and relevant industry regulations
  • Maintain accurate HR records, policies, and procedures
  • Oversee payroll coordination, HR systems, and reporting processes

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in Human Resources, with at least 3 years in a managerial role
  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is an advantage
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM, IHRMP, or equivalent) is required
  • Demonstrated expertise in recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle management
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, compliance policies, and HR best practices
  • Proven experience in employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to design and implement effective training and development programs
  • Proficiency in HR systems, payroll processing, and recordkeeping tools
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
