Project Engineering Lead (Full-Time)

Role Overview

The Project Engineering Lead will drive the successful planning, execution, and delivery of capital projects within the Tema facility. The role requires strong technical expertise, stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence. The successful candidate will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with global engineering and safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate project execution by liaising with Group Engineering teams, OEMs, and key stakeholders to ensure adherence to best practices and Barry Callebaut safety standards.
  • Plan projects in collaboration with plant owners to minimize disruption to operations and optimize plant uptime.
  • Commission projects and ensure proper closure, including complete documentation for asset capitalization, financial booking, and user handover.
  • Partner with user departments and management to identify, define, and prioritize CAPEX investment requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager and Technical Manager to secure local approvals and submit CAPEX proposals for group-level approval.
  • Prepare and deliver monthly reports on CAPEX performance, project status, and expenditure.
  • Work closely with the Safety Department to ensure all projects are executed without accidents or incidents.
  • Drive cost efficiency by ensuring value for money in the procurement of materials and services, while maintaining quality and timely delivery.

About You

  • Hold a BSc in Operations & Project Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Bring 3–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrate strong expertise in project management and contractor safety management.
  • Apply analytical skills to interpret technical documentation and engineering drawings effectively.
  • Possess solid knowledge of safety systems, standards, and procedures.
  • Show proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project.
  • Exhibit the ability to build team capability, lead change initiatives, and manage stakeholders effectively.
  • Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Take a hands-on, results-driven approach to problem-solving and project execution.
