Job Summary

AngloGold Ashanti (Ghana) Limited seeks an experienced and highly skilled Trainer, Jumbo Equipment to deliver technical training, assessment, and competency development for underground drilling operations. The successful candidate will train operators, enforce safety standards, and ensure effective use of jumbo drilling equipment in line with operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver practical and theoretical training on jumbo drilling equipment operations in underground mining environments.
• Assess operator competence and provide structured feedback to improve performance and safety compliance.
• Ensure all training activities comply with mine safety standards and operational procedures.
• Develop and implement training materials, assessments, and competency evaluation tools.
• Monitor equipment handling practices and reinforce safe operating procedures.
• Support continuous improvement in operator skills and equipment utilization efficiency.
• Conduct workplace coaching and on-the-job training in underground conditions.
• Maintain accurate training records, assessments, and certification documentation.
• Collaborate with supervisors and technical teams to identify training needs.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education

• Diploma or Certificate in Drilling Technology.
• NVTI Certificate, HND in Mechanical Engineering, or any Technician certificate with good grades.
• Mincom Certificate in Jumbo Operation.
• Recognized Train-the-Trainer and Assessor certification.

Experience

• Minimum of 5–8 years’ relevant experience as a Jumbo Equipment Trainer.
• Extensive underground mining experience.
• Proven experience in training, assessing, and developing equipment operators.

Legal Requirement

• Valid driver’s licence.

Technical Competencies

• Strong understanding of equipment safety and underground mining operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to train, assess, and provide constructive feedback effectively.
• Ability to work in shifts and in underground mining conditions.
• Strong focus on safety, discipline, and operational excellence.
