  • Assess opportunities for renewable energy integration and low-carbon technologies.
  • Monitor progress and continuously update the roadmap to reflect operational priorities and corporate requirements.

Monitor and Analyse Energy Performance

  • Analyse energy performance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare and communicate actionable insights to operational and leadership teams to support data-driven decision-making.

  • Plan, coordinate, and deliver energy improvement projects in collaboration with Maintenance, Engineering, and Process teams.
  • Ensure the effective implementation of global energy standards and best practices across the site.
  • Monitor project performance to achieve targeted energy and cost savings.

Drive Energy Management System Compliance

  • Maintain compliance with corporate energy management requirements and applicable local energy regulations.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of an Energy Management System aligned with ISO 50001 principles.
  • Coordinate energy audits, maintain required documentation, and support certification and regulatory compliance activities.

Build Energy Awareness and Capability

  • Promote a culture of energy efficiency across the site.
  • Deliver training programmes, workshops, and energy-focused Gemba walks for operators, technicians, and cross-functional teams.
  • Lead and coordinate the site’s cross-functional energy team.
  • Develop and manage employee engagement and recognition initiatives that promote energy and environmental awareness.

Report Energy Performance

  • Prepare regular reports on energy consumption, energy intensity, savings achieved, project performance, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide accurate reporting to site leadership and corporate stakeholders to support strategic decision-making and performance monitoring.

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement

The Energy Lead will actively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including:

  • Providing daily updates to Maintenance, Engineering, and Process teams on energy performance and ongoing initiatives.
  • Presenting monthly performance reviews and improvement plans to Site Management and the Technical Manager.
  • Working closely with the Global Energy Team to align site initiatives with global energy strategies and reporting requirements.
  • Engaging suppliers and contractors to implement energy-efficient technologies and projects.
  • Liaising with regulatory authorities and external auditors to maintain compliance with applicable energy regulations.
