Position Summary

The French Teacher will deliver engaging and effective French language instruction that promotes students’ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The successful candidate will create an inclusive classroom environment, foster a love for language learning, and support students’ academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging French lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and learning objectives.
• Develop students’ proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in French.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation.
• Assess, monitor, and evaluate student progress, providing timely feedback to support continuous improvement.
• Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and classroom activities that accommodate diverse learning needs.
• Encourage students to appreciate French language and culture through interactive and creative learning experiences.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and assessments.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum planning and school initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students’ academic progress and development.
• Participate actively in staff meetings, professional development programmes, and extracurricular activities as required.
• Uphold the school’s safeguarding, child protection, and professional standards at all times.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in French, French Education, Languages, or a related subject area.
• A professional teaching qualification is an added advantage.
• Previous teaching experience in a basic or secondary school setting is desirable.
• Excellent written and spoken French and English communication skills.
• Strong classroom management and lesson planning skills.
• Passion for teaching and inspiring students to achieve academic excellence.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other educational technology tools is an advantage.
