Position Overview
As the Analyst, Digital Forensics, you will conduct forensic examinations, support fraud investigations, preserve digital evidence, and provide actionable insights that strengthen organizational security and risk management. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders, legal teams, auditors, and external authorities to investigate incidents and support effective resolution.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with investigative skills, professional judgment, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Digital Forensic Examinations
- Conduct forensic acquisition, preservation, and analysis of digital evidence from computers, mobile devices, servers, cloud platforms, and network environments.
- Maintain strict chain-of-custody procedures and ensure all evidence is collected and preserved using forensically sound methodologies.
- Perform forensic imaging, hashing, validation, and evidence verification activities.
- Utilize industry-standard forensic tools to recover, analyze, and interpret digital evidence.
- Conduct memory analysis, timeline reconstruction, malware triage, and other advanced forensic examinations as required.
- Support incident response activities through forensic analysis and evidence collection.
- Document findings accurately and maintain comprehensive case records.
Fraud Investigations
- Lead or support investigations into fraud incidents, including employee misconduct, vendor-related fraud, cyber fraud, and revenue leakage.
- Develop structured investigation plans and execute investigative activities in line with established protocols.
- Collect, review, and analyze documentary, digital, and testimonial evidence.
- Conduct investigative interviews and assist with fact-finding exercises.
- Identify control weaknesses, process gaps, and systemic risks contributing to incidents.
- Recommend practical corrective actions and risk mitigation measures.
- Maintain and analyze the Fraud Incident Register to identify emerging threats, trends, and risk indicators.
Reporting & Stakeholder Engagement
- Prepare clear, objective, and well-documented forensic and investigative reports.
- Present findings and recommendations to management, legal teams, audit committees, and other stakeholders.
- Support disciplinary proceedings, legal reviews, and regulatory inquiries where required.
- Assist in preparing case files and evidentiary materials for criminal prosecution or civil recovery actions.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, regulatory authorities, and external legal counsel when necessary.
- Provide expert testimony and technical explanations during legal or regulatory proceedings as required.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Digital Forensics, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- A Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field combined with demonstrable digital forensic training may also be considered.
Professional Certifications
Candidates who hold or are actively pursuing one or more of the following certifications will have an advantage:
Digital Forensics
- Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE)
- EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE)
- Cellebrite Certified Mobile Examiner (CCME)
- GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA)
- Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI)
- Equivalent industry-recognized certifications
Fraud & Risk Management
- Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) – Strongly Preferred
Information Security
- Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
- Equivalent information security certifications
Additional Advantage
- Formal training in forensic interview techniques and investigative methodologies.
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of combined experience in digital forensics, fraud investigations, cybersecurity, information security, or related disciplines.
- Experience within a corporate environment, telecommunications company, law enforcement agency, forensic consultancy, or professional services firm is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience conducting digital investigations and managing sensitive evidence.
