We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Business Manager to lead strategic stakeholder engagement, regulatory compliance, infrastructure coordination, and government relations for our operations.

Position Summary

The Business Manager will oversee critical business operations involving land acquisition, regulatory compliance, government and community relations, infrastructure development, and strategic stakeholder management. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with government agencies, traditional authorities, utility providers, and local communities while ensuring that all statutory, operational, and project requirements are delivered efficiently and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Land Administration and Stakeholder Engagement

• Manage land transfer procedures for Stool Lands and private lands in collaboration with the Lands Commission to ensure legal leasehold and title registration processes.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with Traditional Councils, Chiefs, and community leaders.
• Resolve disputes relating to land boundaries, compensation, and construction activities through effective negotiation and stakeholder engagement.
• Coordinate local labour requirements and manage community expectations to minimize project disruptions.
• Develop and implement community engagement initiatives that strengthen and maintain the company’s social licence to operate.

Infrastructure and Utility Coordination

• Lead negotiations and monitor progress with GRIDCo and ECG for high-voltage electricity connections.
• Coordinate industrial water supply arrangements with the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL).
• Manage gas sourcing initiatives through collaboration with GNPC and Ghana Gas, including gas infrastructure development and commercial negotiations.
• Supervise local contractors responsible for site preparation, road construction, and related infrastructure works.

Regulatory Compliance and Government Relations

• Manage registration processes with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) and secure customs duty exemptions for imported machinery and equipment.
• Coordinate the customs clearance of industrial equipment through Tema and Takoradi Ports while resolving customs-related issues with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
• Lead applications for Free Zone status through the Ghana Free Zones Board (GFZB) and oversee ongoing compliance requirements.
• Secure and renew all statutory permits, including environmental, fire safety, standards, and building approvals.
• Serve as the primary liaison with the Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana Police Service, and other regulatory authorities.
• Coordinate crisis management and security matters in collaboration with relevant government agencies.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Law, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of five (5) years of professional experience managing large-scale industrial, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects in Ghana.
• Strong knowledge of Ghana’s Land Act, government administrative procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
• Demonstrated working relationships with key institutions such as the Ghana Revenue Authority (Customs Division), Lands Commission, ECG, GRIDCo, GNPC, Ghana Gas, or similar regulatory bodies.
• Full professional proficiency in English.
• Experience managing Free Zone applications and regulatory compliance is highly desirable.
• Experience within the ceramics, glass manufacturing, heavy industrial, or construction sectors will be an added advantage.
