Key Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, peeling, washing, and storing food items.
- Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to approved recipes and preparation standards.
- Prepare and cook meals in line with established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
- Prepare cold dishes and assist with a variety of food preparation activities.
- Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, grills, fryers, and microwaves safely and efficiently.
- Monitor food quality throughout the cooking and preparation process.
- Test foods to ensure proper cooking temperatures and quality standards are achieved.
- Set up and organize workstations before food preparation and ensure proper breakdown after service.
- Plate and serve food in appropriate portions and presentation styles.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen areas, equipment, utensils, knives, and work surfaces.
- Ensure all appliances and food items maintain the correct temperature in accordance with food safety standards.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations consistently.
- Support team members during busy service periods to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or kitchen leadership.
Educational & Professional Requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of related culinary or kitchen experience.
- No supervisory experience required.
- No license or certification required.
