We are seeking a passionate, knowledgeable, and innovative Geography Teacher to join our academic team. Position Summary

The Geography Teacher will deliver engaging and high-quality Geography lessons that promote curiosity, geographical inquiry, and critical thinking. The successful candidate will create a positive learning environment, assess student progress, and contribute to the school’s commitment to academic excellence and holistic education.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Geography lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum.
• Create an inclusive, stimulating, and learner-centred classroom environment.
• Encourage students to explore physical, human, and environmental geography through inquiry-based learning.
• Use a variety of teaching strategies, field-based learning opportunities, and educational technology to enhance student understanding.
• Develop students’ analytical, research, mapping, and problem-solving skills.

Assessment and Student Progress

• Design and administer assignments, quizzes, tests, and examinations.
• Assess student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Monitor student progress and implement appropriate interventions where additional support is required.
• Maintain accurate academic records and prepare student progress reports.

Classroom Management

• Maintain a safe, respectful, and well-organised classroom environment.
• Foster positive behaviour, collaboration, and active student participation.
• Promote responsible citizenship, environmental stewardship, and respect for cultural diversity.

Curriculum and Professional Development

• Participate in curriculum planning, review, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Attend departmental meetings, staff meetings, and professional development programmes.
• Keep current with developments in Geography education and innovative teaching practices.

Parent and School Engagement

• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and development.
• Participate actively in school events, educational trips, extracurricular activities, and academic programmes.
• Collaborate with colleagues to support student achievement and the school’s educational objectives.
• Perform other teaching and administrative duties as assigned by school management.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Applicants must possess:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Geography Education, Environmental Studies, Earth Sciences, Education, or a related discipline.
• A recognised teaching qualification or professional teacher certification will be an added advantage.

Experience

• Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience in Geography or a related subject.
• Experience teaching an international curriculum will be an added advantage.
