Position Summary
The Mathematics Teacher will plan and deliver engaging, high-quality mathematics lessons that promote student achievement and academic excellence. The successful candidate will create an inclusive classroom environment, assess student progress, and collaborate with colleagues and parents to support students’ educational development.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging mathematics lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports effective learning.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.
- Use a variety of teaching strategies and educational technologies to enhance student engagement.
- Encourage students to develop analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills.
Assessment and Student Progress
- Develop and administer assignments, quizzes, tests, and examinations.
- Assess, record, and monitor student performance and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Identify students requiring additional academic support and implement appropriate interventions.
- Maintain accurate academic records and prepare student progress reports.
Classroom Management
- Establish and maintain high standards of classroom discipline and behaviour.
- Foster mutual respect, collaboration, and a positive learning culture.
- Ensure the classroom remains safe, organised, and conducive to learning.
Curriculum and Professional Development
- Participate in curriculum planning, review, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Attend departmental meetings, staff meetings, and professional development programmes.
- Stay current with best practices in mathematics education and instructional methodologies.
Parent and School Engagement
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and wellbeing.
- Participate actively in school activities, academic events, and extracurricular programmes.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support the school’s educational goals and student success.
- Perform other teaching and administrative duties as assigned by school management.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Applicants must possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, Education, or a related discipline.
- A recognised teaching qualification or professional teacher certification will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience in Mathematics at the basic or secondary school level.
- Experience teaching an international curriculum will be an added advantage.

- Strong knowledge of mathematics concepts and effective teaching methodologies.
- Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Strong lesson planning, assessment, and curriculum delivery skills.
