Job Purpose

The Technician Hygiene Assistant will support hygiene operations by ensuring the efficient monitoring, maintenance, and control of chemical dosing systems and hygiene-related technical processes. The role requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with site personnel to maintain operational efficiency and product quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct basic installation, calibration, and maintenance of dosing equipment.
• Monitor target chemical consumption levels and ensure compliance with recommended usage ratios.
• Identify and report technical cleaning issues to the Operator, Line Manager, or Site Coordinator.
• Check product concentrations and conduct performance control by application, including line checks and efficacy checks, without negatively impacting EBI or Tunnel Pasteurizer performance.
• Measure and monitor water consumption, dosage rates, and daily chemical usage through titration and other approved methods.
• Maintain stock control processes and provide timely alerts for replenishment requirements.
• Ensure the availability of all required chemicals at designated points of use on-site.
• Report observations and issues that may impact chemical consumption or operational efficiency.
• Conduct chemical consumption and stock analysis in collaboration with the Site Coordinator.
• Maintain accurate consumption trackers for all chemical applications, including caustic, bottle washer additives, pasteurizer additives, acid cleaning tanks, sterile solutions, and lubricants.
• Record technical incidents and assist in diagnosing and resolving basic technical issues.
• Maintain effective communication and positive working relationships with all Diageo site personnel.
• Deliver basic operational and hygiene-related training to operators when required.

Requirements

• Minimum of an HND in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least three (3) years of relevant experience in a similar technical role.
• Possession of a relevant technical certification is required.
• Experience in a start-up or pilot production environment will be an added advantage.
• Strong motor skills with the ability to perform fine assembly tasks accurately.
• Ability to identify defects and distinguish between colors effectively.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical data and operational procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment under supervision.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database systems.
• Working knowledge of email systems, computer hardware, and peripherals.
